Online Registration for INTERIORS 08 Now Open

Experiential Learning Tours and Education Sessions Already Filling Up!

You can now register for INTERIORS 08: The ASID Conference on Design through the ASID Web site at www.asid.org/interiors. The conference will be held March 13 16, 2008, at the New Orleans Marriott. Registration is available for the full conference or a one-day pass for Friday or Saturday. Register for the full conference before Feb. 5, 2008, and save $100.

Please note that space is limited for tours, experiential learning opportunities and some sessions, so register early for the best selection. Enter the ASID Student Design Competition

ASID student members are invited to enter the fourth annual ASID Student Design Competition. The contest is open to ASID student members in any year of study. The winning entry will be announced at INTERIORS 08: The ASID Conference on Design and prominently published in ASID ICON, ACCESS student newsletter and on the ASID Web site.  

The winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize and a complimentary trip to INTERIORS 08: The ASID Conference on Design.

How to Enter
Download the submission information and competition components at www.asid.org/studentcenter. Only one entry allowed per person. All entries must be postmarked no later than Jan. 4, 2008, and arrive to ASID no later than Jan. 8, 2008.


Time to Renew Your Membership Online

Renew Online for a Chance to Win a Free Year of Membership Dues!

The second mailed membership renewal notice will reach you the week of Dec. 10. However, there is no need to wait for the U.S. Postal Service—you can now renew your ASID membership online! Log on to www.asid.org and click on "Renew Your Dues" to make a payment. Members that renew their dues online by Dec. 31, 2007, will be entered into a drawing to win a free year of membership dues! Only online renewals are eligible for the raffle. You may also log on to www.asid.org and print a receipt for renewal payments made this year and in previous years, as well as update your contact information.

Please remember that the new membership year begins Jan. 1, 2008, and your dues should be paid by that time to remain a member in good standing. ASID thanks you for your continuing membership!

Still Time to Comment on ASID and USGBC REGREEN Guidelines

ASID and USGBC invite you to comment on the draft of REGREEN Residential Remodeling Guidelines, a compilation of education resources and guidelines for residential improvement projects. The public comment period will be open through Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at midnight Pacific Standard Time.

The completed REGREEN guidelines will be released at INTERIORS 08: The ASID Conference on Design, this coming March.

AAHID Seeking Executive Director

The American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) is hiring an executive director. The position is responsible for the leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Regents.

National Trust Accepting Nominations for Endangered Historic Places List

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is accepting nominations for its 2008 America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list. The list is issued annually to raise awareness of historic sites at risk from neglect, deterioration, lack of maintenance, insufficient funds, inappropriate development or insensitive public policy.

The National Trust uses three primary criteria to determine the 11 finalists: significance, urgency and potential solutions. The 2008 list will be announced in May.
