I just ran across an online training program for Google Sketchup at "Sessions," a really cool online design school. If you go to www.sessions.edu you can find it under courses (http://www.sessions.edu/courses/All_couses/SketchUpBasics.asp). This website is also good for those of you who are interested in web/graphic/digital design but don't have time to take any classes.
Check it out!

Tour of the "Green House" on Mulberry!
Hi everyone,
Field Trip!!
We are getting the chance to tour the "Green House" on Mulberry this Wednesday, October 17th at 4:00 PM! If you don't know where it is, it is on Mulberry (Mangrove splits into Pine and Cypress, the one way streets, which goes together into Mulberry if you're heading towards E. 20th St.). The house would be on the left and we're going to be getting a tour from the builder!
This house is on the market and is an environmentally friendly house that looks modern and unique from the outside. It would be a good chance to see, in person, some green and sustainable aspects of a house here in Chico!
You can meet us at the house at 4:00 PM sharp, or if you still aren't sure where it is and would like to go, meet Lindsay Christensen out in front of Ayers by 3:45. Again - this coming Wednesday, October 17th.
Contact Lindsay or Chelsea if you have any questions! Hope to see you there!

Sign up for Scour & Devour 2007!
This year's Scour & Devour 2007 will be on Saturday, October 6th and ASID and the Interior Design Department will be participating! Sign up is in the hallway outside of Ayers 101 on the glass case or contact any officer if you have questions.
The activity starts at 9 AM and there is a Tri-tip barbecue at 12 Noon. Any ASID/Interior Design students who want to help will get a discount towards an ASID t-shirt to wear (a $15 value for $10!), if you don't already have one (wear yours if you do!). Attention Volunteers: Please wear appropriate close-toe shoes on the day of the event. No flip flops!
Scour & Devour is an annual service project created to serve CSU, Chico and the surrounding areas by cleaning and beautifying them. For three hours, about 1000 volunteers gather at 8am on Kendall Hall Lawn. Volunteers pick up trash, paint fences and walls, plant flowers, wash building entrances, pick up cigarette butts, clean out street gutters, remove debris from the railroad bike trail, and assist with other jobs in surrounding campus areas. After the volunteers (students, staff, faculty, and community members) scour the area, they devour a barbecue lunch sponsored in part by local businesses.

The purpose of Scour & Devour is to beautify the University, North and South Campus Neighborhoods, the Downtown area, Chico City Parks, areas close to the railroad tracks, and other areas in need of assistance by cleaning around these specific areas. While in the process of cleaning, volunteers are educated about the importance of keeping their surroundings beautiful, encouraged to take pride in their University and community and build relationships with other students, faculty and staff they work with.
