ASID meeting for Student Career Forum

Hi Everyone,

There is going to be a quick meeting this Wednesday in
Ayers 101 at 1:30 for anyone who is interested in
attending the Student Career Forum. If you haven't
done so already, I was thinking that we could break
into groups of four or so to share hotel rooms,
carpool, etc. And register ASAP as the presentations

ASID Valentine's Day Fundraiser - We need more volunteers!!

Hi everyone -
Thanks to those of you who signed up for a spot on the Valentine's Day Fundraiser Days, but we still have a few open spots to fill!  Mollye (our fundraising officer) has been working very hard to get everything set up and she could really use some more volunteers!!

On Wednesday, February 13th we have an opening from 2:00 - 3:00 PM.  We need 1 volunteer.

On Thursday, February 14th we have openings at:

• 9:30 - 10:00 AM (Set up) - we need 2 volunteers
• 10:00 - 11:00 AM - we need 2 volunteers
• 1:00 - 2:00 PM - we need 1 volunteer
• 2:00 - 3:00 PM - we need 2 volunteers
• 3:00 - 3:30 PM (Clean up) - we need 1 volunteer

I'm going to post the list on the glass case outside of Ayers 101.  E-mail me back if you want to fill the spots, or sign up after the sheet is posted.

We'll be having our first ASID Meeting of the semester this Wednesday, February 6th at 1:30 PM in Ayers 101! Join us for activity planning, pizza and refreshments, and a SAMPLE SWAP! Bring your old samples that you don't want anymore, and everyone can share what they brought!!

I hope all is good. Please log onto the SCF website to look at the details for the event. Don't miss this even as our chapter is the main sponsor for the entire event and the keynote speaker. Book your hotels early...there are many conferences going on in SF that same weekend, and most hotels located near Market Street are already fully booked.

 

The registration portion of the website will be up soon, but take a look at the seminars being offered. If you need a copy of the seminars, let me know and I can email it to you.

Lighting Design Competition

Chico State ASID is hosting a Lighting Design Competition this spring.
Entries are due to Ayers 101 by Friday, February 29th at 3:00 PM.
Fill out a separate entry form for each submission. Submission fee is $5 per each submission.

Fwd: ASID Newsletter Name Competition - PLEASE READ and RESPOND!

Good morning all,

I hope this email finds you all well in this new year. The ASID professional chapter for CA Central / NV would like to ask for your input in coming up with a name for the chapter's design newsletter. They are looking for something design oriented (of course), catchy, trendy and all around creative. Keep in mind that the chapter works with designers and other other industry professionals in the following areas; Central CA, Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, and Fresno area. Perhaps a name that somehow includes and or encompasses attributes from all these areas would be great.  A special prize will be awarded for the name that will be chosen. Send your responses to me in a reply email before end of this week.
